The COVID-19 outbreak has surely turned the whole world upside down. It has had a major impact on the global economy. But still, we should not loose hope and try to find the requisite solutions and continue our fight with the mighty virus.

Now a days, most of the companies are considering work-from-home as one of the best options in dealing with COVID, and had given relaxation to their employees to stay at home to be safe and they have allowed desk job to be operational from home.

Many people have self-quarantined themselves as a precautionary measure against the disease and are working from home to stay safe.

It is therefore the best solution to embrace work from home as the preferred way of organising work.

However, there are other industries severely suffering from a man-power loss and are completely on the verge of closing down. Mostly the industries such as manufacturing, aviation, hotels, education and many more are getting adversely affected by it.
It is a fact that at the same time there are some institutions and professionals who cannot work from home, they include, vaccine researchers, doctors, nurses, hospital orderlies, paramedics, Police etc.
we have to remember and thank all the healthcare officials and workers who are constantly working into the eye of the storm by risking their lives and providing the best service they can.

Get adequate sleep.
Most of us would agree that a typical working day does not allow us to get adequate sleep (7-9 hours). Staying at home gives us some additional hours which we can utilise to sleep well. In addition, you can choose to work at night if you are a night owl or work in the morning if you are an early riser.

Home food:
Many of us rely on canteen food for lunch and snacks despite knowing that such food might not be best for our health. Working from home gives the opportunity to have nutritious home-made food.

Save commute time:
Most of us spend at least an hour commuting to and from office. This quarantine during COVID-19 not only saves that time but also decreases stress and fatigue associated with travel.

Time with family:
Working from home allows us to be near our family all day. You do not have to worry about your children being alone or your parents feeling lonely. In addition, you have the option of engaging in fun activities with your family.

Pursue hobbies:
We can spend some time pursuing our childhood hobbies that got lost due to our adult responsibilities.

• Get ready in the morning as if you were to leave the house to work. This way you trick your brain into going into “work mode”.
• Communicate clearly with the people around you that you will be available for leisure again after your work has been done. This way you prevent interruptions during your focus-time. Your family will be more supportive than you think.
• Reserve one place in your house for working. That also means do not eat and work at the same place.
• Separate your private and work-life like this and the foundation for your work-from-home success is set.

PROS AND CONS OF WORKING FROM HOME
There are both PROS and CONS to this, which are discussed below;

PROS:

• you can work from the comfort of your home.
• Reduce your exposure to the virus.
• Flexible work timings.
• work before breakfast, still in PJs.
• short workout breaks.
• you cannot fit changing from and to business attire into.

CONS:

• No restriction on working hours.
• 24/7 you will be expected to support.
• connectivity issues.
• prolonged calls.
• Working women have to do both taking care of the house hold things and also the work has to be done.
• Status at the end of the day.
• Definitely more work will be given.

Work from home may seem as a happy period for many but let’s pray that this situation should come to an end soon because it is a tough time for many.
