After Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that an event will be held every week till September 27 to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people, massive gatherings in various cities was observed today for the unwavering support for PM Khan’s call for ‘Kashmir Hour’ from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM in the wake of India’s, human rights violations and atrocities in Kashmir.

Kashmir Hour, which spanned for half an hour, commenced with the playing of the national anthem of Pakistan and Kashmir across the country on all TV, FM and Radio channels.
Sirens were blared, traffic was halted and the national anthems of Pakistan and Kashmir were played to mark the ‘Kashmir Hour’ after a comprehensive plan was formulated by all deputy commissioners of the country for staging demonstrations against India Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Hindu nationalist Indian government’s illegal actions and gross violations of human rights in Kashmir.

Hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis from all the big cities of Pakistan and from all walks of life, celebrities, notable figures, local political leaders in their respective constituencies led protest rallies in which students and civil society were witnessed coming out of their homes, offices and work places holding Pakistani and Kashmiri flags and placards, chanting Kashmir Bane Ga Pakistan (Kashmir will Pakistan), gave the entire world a strong message by expressing support to oppressed people of the occupied valley.

Prime Minister addressed the demonstrators at PM office, asserting that;
“Pakistan’s messages cannot be reached to the people of occupied Kashmir due to a complete communication blackout but will reach Delhi, a message clearly displaying that Pakistan will NOT back down from the Kashmir cause.”

People diligently listened to PM’s speech while standing in solidarity with Kashmiris.
He thanked the people for showing their overwhelming support to his call of ‘Kashmir Hour’.

The president affirmed that the entire nation is standing with the Kashmiris, and stressed that the whole Muslim world needs to raise voice for them against the Indian atrocities in the occupied valley.
He further said that “ the rights of the Kashmiris cannot be violated, and they will definitely get freedom if we stand together for them.”

Looking back at Kashmir’s situation the area is currently in its fourth week of a wide-ranging communications blackout with severe restrictions on movement. Thousands of people have been incarcerated in the crackdown.
This is such a devastating condition that we as a nation should think and do much more than just conducting such protests and rallies.

Its high time that the political leaders of both the countries should sit together, stop saber rattling, and avoid provoking nationalist and religious passions of the people. Nothing good will ever come out of cheap emotionalism and should find a good workable, equitable and acceptable solution for the oppressed people of Kashmir.
We all know that the Kashmir Conflict is not so easy either but both the countries along with the people of Kashmir should take concrete steps to seek a solution to the conflict by letting the people of Jammu and Kashmir decide their own future.
