Unforgivable Damage

This is what happens when small minds take up a big office for which they are not suited. Sharif has no natural talent to be a politician and neither has he acquired one! He sees conspiracy against him all the time. At best, NS has delinquent genes & he cannot stop thinking of making money using power. This is the only quality Sharif family has. Why would he refuse cardiac angiography in Pakistan? This would reveal his true malady.

A confirmed ‘godfather’. A luckiest prisoner having the choicest room, fully furnished, relaxing on flowery bed and eating sugar-free sumptuous ‘Halwa’ brought from home by his billionaire daughter. Though, they say ’10 years of rigorous imprisonment’! Can you believe?

His wealth beyond known means, his inability to explain sources of his huge fortune, the fake documents submitted in the court of law and Panama gate scandal itself. The premise is entirely based on the idea as if his outage has nothing to do with money laundering, corruption, and tax evasion. Besides his children owning properties worth billions and his inability to explain layers of alleged black money as it was parked in many foreign countries. Finally the contradictory statements of his family member, himself and his cronies got him severely in trouble.  

As William Shakespeare mentioned: Some have greatness thrust upon them that is Nawaz Sharif. He had no qualities to have any position of authority – No acumen, No finesse rather a short memory m a shorter attention scan, illusions of grandeur and power, lust for money, no ethics or morals and yet the bigger the are the harder they fall and that exactly what Sharif’s fate was.

After 40 years of plundering Nawaz still enjoys the support of voters and system. If system cannot call a spade then it better should be demolished. One wonders how any of this can even happen. How does a former prime minister with a comfortable majority in the National Assembly till last July as the head of the country’s largest political party with deep roots in the most populous province, find himself in a jail cell while his party is dismembered and beaten?

Many lay the blame on sore relations between Nawaz Sharif and the military establishment, alleging that his downfall has been engineered from start to finish. The military, obviously, denies that it has any role in his ouster and imprisonment.

Nawaz has survived the test of a lifetime in fiddling with the system through politics for his benefit. Certainly without doubt the Avenfield properties belong to him even though his sons and daughter own them in their names. He has been playing this game all his life. His chances of playing this game of chess and winning have considerably been reduced now. Certainly his children will never be able to play the same game.

I suspect he will get away scot-free and no looted money will ever be recovered. We already know his plans to retire in the UK. Hence his sons have British Passports, plus hefty investments and properties bought from the money taken from Pakistan allows for comfortable life after all this is over.

This was the simplest case which has been made complex by the reluctance of Nawaz to tell the truth and give the money trail. Unfortunately greed and nepotism has destroyed a corrupt politician and he will be remembered as a thief in the history. He could fool the nation once but not all the time.

However, another bail extension application is filled with threat to court by Nawaz Sharif. This is disgraceful and telling our honorable courts that if bail is not extended then be prepared for adverse consequences – this type of threats were issued by Sicilian mafia in Italy over twenty years ago. This is shameful and CJ should take note of this bullying and blackmailing tactics. It will be unforgivable if this review petition is entertained at all. This corrupt former PM is using the money and resources which he looted from poor towards these appeals and sub appeals or fighting the case. How many ordinary prisoners without money have been given such a leeway?

Indeed NS has surpassed all others, by his level of corruption and greed. He is in fact heading for self-destruction. When someone enters hedonistic state, that’s when the downfall begins. Rome, the largest empire, followed by the Ottomans fell, when they thought they were invincible and became too arrogant for their own good.

Further, there are just few soft questions that NS needs to answer before the people if he really calls for democratic system to prevail and in democracy each and every ruler is answerable. Hence Mr. Sharif need to answer the following questions: 1) How did he enter politics? 2) Why was he instrumental hatching conspiracies against every elected govt? 3) Why did he accept bribe to buy and sell the same vote he calls Muqadas today? 4) Why didn’t he produce the money trail of the flats and vindicate himself instead of circusing around? 5) Why did he start a campaign of personal attacks in politics? 6) His “70 years military intervention mantra” is in reality the same mantra that brought him to politics what did he do to change that? 7) Finally he had the strongest mandates in the history of Pakistan not once, not twice but three times. He did not get along with generals, judges, and even politicians. We know how he used to trash BB when she used to visit Punjab as a PM and you were CM Punjab. Why did you humiliate her like that?

Arrogance to its limits. NS did not learn from history and his mistakes and behind the bars is the only place he should be.
