Mr. Prime Minister: Now where is the moral justification of your government?

What could be a greater demonstration of brutality and cruelty when the Prime Minister himself calls a protest the tool of blackmailing.

Last year a tragic incident rocked New Zealand in which 51 Muslims were killed in a dreadful attack on a mosque. Immediately after the happening, the Prime Minister of New Zealand rushed to the scene and hugged the mourners of the affected families, being empathetic towards them and expressing her determination to be with each individual in the hour of grief chanting “we are united”. And we will never allow those who want to divide us to succeed in their ill-intentions.

In support of Muslims and to share in their suffering, the people of New Zealand stood side by side on the streets, erasing all differences of caste, religion and race, and many people even threw bouquets at the place of the massacre. Adhan was also allowed on the mic to show solidarity with Muslims. Jacinda Arden proved to the people that she is not the Prime Minister of any particular class, religion or race but the Prime Minister of the whole country.

To my surprise, from where did the infidels learn these manners of humanity? Since as Muslims we consider everyone except ourselves as infidels and a young man suffering from the same insanity had reached the point where he asked Jacinda Arden to accept Islam. If you look at the division of sects, you will find hundreds of sects under different names and all sects do not recognize each other, even mosques appear to be divided in the name of these sects.

Sadly, this division is now taking many precious lives. In the wake of this tragic situation, about 11 members of the Hazara community have been brutally murdered in the last few days and their families are protesting on the streets yet the state is a mere spectator. The claimant Prime Minister of Riayasat-e-Madinah tweeted that he will only visit the mourners if they bury their loved ones as this sit-in for almost a week is perhaps a tool to blackmail the Prime Minister. Now if this is not outright cold in-sensitiveness then what is?

What could be a greater demonstration of brutality and cruelty? In this hour of grief, the Prime Minister should have been by their side and should have hugged and consoled the mourners, but the Prime Minister took it upon his ego. Mr. PM, you are the representative of the whole nation and you should know that this oppression has been going on with the Hazara community for almost 22 years now and they are fed up with carrying funerals and after every tragic incident they are told “We will make them pay hard” but then after a while more of their community members are killed rather butchered.

When members of the Hazara community were killed in 2013, Imran Khan himself attended their sit-in and while talking to the media, he asked the then Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to resign as he had lost the moral right to govern. Now, Mr. PM, what is your position on the 11 slaughtered dead bodies of the Hazara community? As Prime Minister, you have also lost moral legitimacy.

For the past several days, the helpless corpses of the Hazara tribe are lamenting over our dead society. They are narrating a bizarre story of our dead conscience that even the unconscious may be looking for a place to hide.
I am neither an analyst nor a politician, but does one have to be from a specific race or tribe to feel the pain of another? Humanity means to be empathetic to one another. If the ability to feel pain or suffering is lost due to rank, position or political affiliation, then one is nothing but a loath of filth.

There is no doubt that we have been facing the scourge of terrorism for a long time. To get rid of this, our security forces have undoubtedly made many sacrifices and achieved successes against terrorists.
But the question now is whether the lifeless corpses of these innocent victims are waiting for justice. Isn’t it the responsibility of our head of the state to wipe away the tears of the bereaved families, who have been waiting for so many days?

As an ordinary citizen, it is incomprehensible to me why our government is not able to resolve this issue. As a citizen, I have no answer when I see my fellow citizens sitting in the cold pleading for justice and waiting for our Prime Minister to show up.

Nowadays, an ordinary person who uses social media or watches television cannot remain unaffected by the grief caused by these events. An ordinary Pakistani may still not be able to get rid of the demon of conscience completely. Somewhere along the way, we are still disturbed.

As a society, it is our duty to stand with our fellow human beings as much as possible in their suffering. Support them and raise our voice for them. Or else these lifeless corpses will continue to mourn our dead society.
